GUEST ON OUR PORCH: MU J-STUDENT MADISON LAWSON EXPLAINS WHY STARBUCKS' STRAW ELIMINATION IS BAD FOR DISABLED PEOPLE

July 18, 2018

Madison Lawson is a journalism student at the University of Missouri who is perhaps one of the most fashionable—if not THE most fashionable—person in the j-school. She has written a number of articles for Teen Vogue, but we found this article in particular to be incredibly insightful.

As you may now, Starbucks recently decided to eliminate plastic straws from its stores by 2020, in an attempt to be a more eco-friendly business. However, as Lawson illustrates in her Teen Vogue article, this recent decision by Starbucks could have a negative effect on disabled people.
